The International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board’s (IAASB) Clarity Project has resulted in a new set of ‘clarified’ standards which are effective for audits of financial statements for periods beginning on or after 1 January 2010 in Malaysia. 19 ISAs and ISQC 1 have been redrafted (referred to as ‘Redrafted ISAs’), 16 ISAs contain new and revised requirements (referred to as ‘Revised and Redrafted ISAs’) and a new ISA has been issued.
